It supposedly means I awake from a nightmare. Such is the translation on the Sigur Ros lyrics website. My apologies for my lack of appreciation for the Icelandic language.

Sorry mate, an updated version of the translation says it means "I wake dream-ocean" :-/

To me it will always be "i awake form a nightmare" though, much more fitting and grammatically correct =p

ah, okey. icelandic is similar to the norwegian language, very like old norwegian. so i regognized the words :) but not "haf" so i had to ask
